Welcome To The SDSSA Recreational Tournament!
Greetings to all soccer players and
families.
Welcome to Sioux Falls and the 2011
Midcontinent Recreational Soccer Cup and the Kohl’s American Cup. This is the
twenty-eighth annual state recreational soccer tournament.
The South Dakota State Soccer
Association is pleased to partner with the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club to
provide this unique soccer experience for the recreation league players across
the state. It is played once every year to highlight recreational soccer and
promote fair play. Teams are given opportunities for games within their level of
play, with an emphasis on participation, rather than competition.
We ask all coaches, parents and
players to respect this wonderful game. The success of these games is very
dependant on the good behavior of teams and fans. Cheer positively. Enjoy the
games.
Thank you to the Dakota Alliance
Soccer Club, the City of Sioux Falls, the Sioux Falls CVB and the SF Department
of Parks and Recreation, supporters and lots of volunteers for investing the
time and resources that contribute to the success of this event.
Again, welcome to the South Dakota Midcontinent Recreational Cup and the
Kohl’s American Cup. Enjoy the games!
Sincerely,
Larry Lovrien,
President South Dakota State Soccer
Association
On behalf of the SDSSA Recreational Committee I welcome all the soccer players,
fans, and local member Association administrators to the 2011 Midcontinent
Recreational Cup and Kohl's American Cup.
I am excited for the return of a truly competitive tournament, crowning a
State Champion for each division. We
also welcome the U8 players playing in the U8 Festival Division as well as this
is a new venue for this Tournament.
I echo President Lovrien's thanks to the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club, especially
Recreational Soccer Director Frank Gurnick and his staff for working closely
with us to host this tournament. I
also appreciate the efforts of the rest of the Recreational Committee members
Cassandra Messmer of Rapid City, Alicia Price of Brookings, Cindy Hahler of
Webster, Ruby Davis of Hot Springs, Shelly Baumann of Spearfish, and Dawn
Swoboda and Kirk Evenson, and many others who help make this tournament a
success.
We all come together to promote good sportsmanship, let us remember to support
our players, coaches, and referees in a positive manner. Have a good time at the Tournament.
